Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American journalist. Her current role is a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta Collins has been bi-lingual since nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first position as a production assistant with Univision in Miami and allowed her to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an anchor for the newscast of The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated into Rio Grande Valley, Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. In addition, she was an anchor for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate and she assumed additional duties. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor herself. She has been promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also played the role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collin's parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. She also has an older sibling. She has an older sister. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo, an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sister had just landed the job of his dreams. As a senior at high school, but with a clear idea what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta visited the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her preferences. As it turned out she loved the campus and they were offering the major she was looking for. When she completed the requirements for high school, she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. The passion he had for journalism as well as confidence in herself encouraged her. In turn, she was determined to achieve his standards and not let him down.
